Sand Ocean is an extremely arid frontier planet which for many years was thought to have been completely void of human life. This theory was smashed when a fearless adventurer discovered the ruins of a 30,000 year-old civilization hidden deep within the desert -- along with a monstrous alien lifeform. Since then, the desolate planet has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the galaxy. The addition of an F-Zero installation has increased the planet's popularity exponentially. It has been featured in every F-Zero console release.
