The Ring of the Dead is an item from Shadowgate 64: Trials of the Four Towersfound within Lakmir's Tower. This ring, found beside the green ring and blue ring, allows the main character, Del Cottonwood, to see and communicate with the dead, who appear as ghosts. However, wearing the ring will not allow the townspeople to understand him, saying that he's speaking in a ghostly way.

Handing someone an item while wearing the ring will suddenly make the people briefly understand you.
Lakmir and Lucas are the few spirits that can reveal themselves to Del without him wearing the ring. This only happens, though, during cutscenes.
