The Pit of 100 Trials is a place located in Rogueport Sewers and next to the Thousand Year Door. As the name implies it is a deep pit that descends further down by pipes. Through each tunnel Mario has to defeat a different type of enemy to advance further. The Pit of 100 Trials was originally created by the Shadow Queen as a torture chamber for those that opposed her. The victims would be dropped into the pit and be fed to the queen's pet Bonetail at the bottom of the pit.
