Marni is a character from Fire Emblem Engage. She is a member of the Four Hounds, an organization that plans to revive the Fell Dragon.
Profile[]
Little is known about Marni's past. According to her, she was abandoned by her mother as she had numerous brothers, and her mom saw no use in having a daughter. One day, Marni's mother took her for a walk, only to take her to a church for the Fell Dragon Sombron. She felt love at the church that she had never felt from her mother, and she came to be scouted by Zephia to form the Four Hounds, alongside Zephia, Mauvier, and Griss.
Marni is first seen in Destinea Cathedral after Sombron steals the six Emblem Rings that the Divine Dragon Alear's party obtained. She later decides to try and earn praise by ambushing the Divine Dragon's party, stealing the Ring of the Young Lion and the Ring of the Dawn Maiden to attack them. However, she and Mauvier are defeated and lose the rings. Zephia punishes the two of them for their failure, knocking both unconscious.
Later on, Mauvier, who wishes to protect the regular Veyle from her sadistic alter-ego, offers a temporary truce with Alear's party as he leads them to Veyle's current location by boat. Marni protests but goes along with it, promising to return to the Hounds once their ship makes it to Veyle. But after hearing Mauvier tell the party about Veyle's past and the helmet forcing her into her alter-ego, Marni has a change of heart. After meeting the Hounds again she attempts to destroy Veyle's helmet with her axe, but the attack doesn't work. Zephia, angered by Marni's betrayal, proceeds to fatally stab her in the chest. Mauvier defects from the Hounds, joining the Divine Dragon. Marni's attack was not in vain, however, as the crack in the helmet allows Alear to shatter it completely and free Veyle from Sombron's control.
In the alternate universe of the Fell Xenologue DLC, an alternate version of Marni named Madeline exists, who is a member of the Four Wings.
