Makoto Kanoh (born October 30, 1950) is a former Nintendo designer who joined in 1972. Initially he was in charge of industrial design of various toys developed by the company, like the Custom Lion. Later, he was in charge of graphic design of most of the Game & Watch titles, and he was also the industrial designer of the R.O.B. accessory.

He was heavily involved in the Metroid series. Some of the projects he's worked on at Nintendo include Super Metroid, the Super Scope for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Mario & Wario.

Eventually Kanoh became involved in artwork production for some games, until he became an advisor for Nintendo. He has since then retired.
