Lego The Hobbit is a Lego action-adventure adaptation of the movie series published by Warner Bros. It was released in April 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. It adapts the first two movies, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug and was planned to have DLC adapting the third movie releasing that year, The Battle of the Five Armies, but that never came to be.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay is typical of most Lego games, in that the game has the player reenact the plots of the movies in a comedic fashion. The world is interconnected like most recent Lego games rather than selecting a chapter by a level select in a hub. The members of the Dwarf Company all have varied abilities during the journey like archery and extracting minerals from stone. Bilbo in particular, improves his abilities as the game progresses like when he gets the Ring, he can disappear and build invisible Lego structures. There are immense LEGO builds in the game that require finding the right material and getting enough studs.
