A tech demo was released showing off Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark and Conker gameplay. A rumor was spread about Banjo-Threeie, but the tech demo was only showing off the GameCube's hardware capabilities.

Banjo-X[]

In 2004, Rare started working on a game codenamed Banjo-X, it was a remake of the original game, then it was changed to a new game but with a focus on cooperative play and then changed to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Microsoft had no creative control over the game. In 2006, Rare released a trailer for Banjo-X, a remake of Banjo-Kazooie, where Banjo and Kazooie were told to stay out from behind a door. Banjo uses Kazooie to destroy the door, revealing a massive world of Jiggys, Music Notes, and Honey Comb Pieces. Banjo runs after the world, then crashes into the wall, and the trailer ends.

Nuts and Bolts[]

Rare tried again to make a Banjo game, and eventually released Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for Xbox 360 published by Microsoft. The game was praised by critics and hated by fans, likely because the game played differently than the previous games.
