Ana is a stereotypical female character in Mother for the Famicom. She is considerably weak and oddly attacks by using weapons such as frying pans. It's clear that she has romantic feelings for the game's protagonist Ninten in the game.
Before she joined Ninten on his journey, Ana was well known for her amazing PSI abilities. Obviously she uses this to her advantage while in battle. Paula from the sequel EarthBound is said to be based on Ana.
