The Wii Console Stand is an accessory that came with most Wii systems, and it is designed to hold the Wii upright. The console itself inserts in the top, and a optical disc-sized circle attaches to the bottom. It is simply a silver cradle-like object, and does not have any electronics inside it or any other function besides holding the Wii vertically.
It has two black rectangles in the bottom that "sticks" onto the surface, and may peel off with time.
Possibly, the disc-sized circle was released maybe after the Wii, or along with the Wii Remote Jacket, due to Wiis falling even on its stand.
You should not slide the console backwards to place on its stand, it may cause the console or the stand to be scratched.
