Lloyd (ロイド) is a merchant with a mysterious background in Nights of Azure. He came to Ruswal Island with the intent to make a fortune.
Lloyd joins the story in Chapter 2, where the player has to save both him and Professor Alucard from the attack of the Blueblood Cavalry Carousel. Once back at the Ende Hotel, Lloyd can be found sitting in front of the bar.
The player can interact with him to purchase items and later gain access to the Trade Merchant.
Appearance[]
Lloyd has the appearance of a short dark-gray haired man with dark brown eyes and a small goatee wearing glasses, a brown buttoned blouse with orange and white accents on top of a white striped shirt, dark baggy pants and black boots with orange accents. He wears two earrings resembling fox tails, one green and one orange with white tips on his left ear. He has a knife attached to an orange strap wrapped to his back. He also wears a metallic shoulder pad on his left shoulder. The metal also covers part of his chest. The jacket has two pockets at chest height and ends with hay colored fur. He also has three orange pockets strapped around his waist.
Personality[]
Lloyd is a laid-back womanizer with a love for profit. Despite appearing abrasive and self-centered, he occasionally has a nugget of insight to offer. Though his motives are often misguided, Lloyd's views on love, romance, and women are quite positive. Lloyd can sometimes be egocentric, always finding a way to make a fortune, but doesn't hesitate to help Arnice in her quest, especially if that means he can make a profit. Sometimes he lets his experience as a traveling merchant shine through when observing items.
History[]
In the past Lloyd used to date a noblewoman, but his only interest was her fortune. Once the noblewoman decided to flee from Ruswal because of the demons, she sent a letter to Lloyd to inform him. During the events of the game, Lloyd receives the letter but half of it has been stolen. He asks Arnice to help him find the other half. The two meet at the spot where Lloyd and his date used to meet only to find Christophorus who had already disposed of the thieves. She lets Arnice get hold of the other half of the letter after defeating a demon. It is then revealed that Lloyd's true interest was the noblewoman's precious jewel which she hid at a nearby tree.
Relationships[]
- Arnice - Lloyd considers Arnice a beautiful woman and doesn't hesitate to compliment her physical aspects. While attracted to her, Lloyd knows he shouldn't put himself between Arnice and Lilysse. He offers her his services in exchange for money. He is intrigued by Arnice's demon slaying duty and hopes he can make a profit from it in more ways than one.
- Lilysse - Despite his womanizing ways, Lloyd is rarely able to bother Lilysse due to Arnice's over-protectiveness. Largely oblivious to any male attention, Lilysse gets along with Lloyd plainly well, treating him as a simple customer.
- Simon - Simon mostly acts as bartender to Lloyd. Upon hearing about Lloyd's skills in trading, Simon decides to transfer him the ability to sell items to Arnice.
- Professor Alucard - Lloyd and Alucard are in a constant state of bickering. The professor finds Lloyd's attraction towards women disgusting, and doesn't hold back in calling him a "pervert" and "skirt-chasing blowhard". In turn, Lloyd finds Alucard's obsession to study Arnice's body creepy, and often calls him "Professor Pervert" because of it. The Professor also considers Lloyd's business practices "thievery" and calls him a "thief" and "moneygrubber". They still both find themselves sitting at the bar in the hotel talking to each other every night.
