The team behind the now shuttered gathering spot and food hall, The Wynwood Yard, have debuted their latest project: The Doral Yard (8455 NW 53rd Street, Suite 106). But due to COVID-19 precautions and new regulations, it has shifted its focus to a pedestrian-only activation of Downtown Doral’s Main Street before it debuts The Hub, an indoor space with a full bar and a small food hall, which will open later this year.
“We are thrilled to be able to engage with the community, albeit in a new form on Main Street,“ says The Doral Yard co-founder and CEO Della Heiman. “The Yard has always been an iterative business, and I’m proud of the way our team and our culinary entrepreneurs have pivoted and were able to collaborate with such a visionary developer to make this pedestrian activation happen.”
Right now The Doral Yard team has activated the Main Street surrounding eateries like Bulla Gastrobar, Dragonfly Izakaya & Fish Market, and Gusto RistoBar, with art installations and socially distanced events that include fitness classes by Sweat 440, yoga classes, and live music and cultural events.
The Doral Yard has also added additional outdoor covered seating options along with five new pop-up eateries that guests can order from via a QR code or The Doral Yard app and have brought to their table. Food outposts include della bowls, Paletas Morelia, Santo Dulce Churros, un pollo, Yip, and The Bar at The Yard.
Eventually, The Doral Yard will be a 20,000-square-foot space divided into three indoor and outdoor zones when it is completed in 2021: The Hub, The Backyard, and a full-service restaurant.
Currently, The Doral Yard is open Sundays to Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to curfew.
