Wikimedia/Collaboration/Botevgrad is a joint project Botevgrad to become the first wikitown in Bulgaria - an idea that started in the summer of 2017. The project has been developing on the basis of the already created wikitowns – Monmouth (Wales), Gibraltar (United Kingdom), Johanesburg (RSA), Brugherio (Italy), Freemantle (Australia). The Botevgrad Municipality will be co-operating with cultural and educational institutions (schools, community centers, clubs, libraries, IBBU Botevgrad, training centers, NGOs) in the municipality.

This GLAM (collaborations with galleries, libraries, archives and museums) collaboration aims to create new articles and to extend the existing ones for objects and personalities from the municipality of Botevgrad as well as the creation of quality photographs and digitization of archive materials. It also can be written in other languages. The final result will be the placement of plates with QR codes и NFC tags at all objects.
