Reginald Eugene Cathey (August 18, 1958 – February 9, 2018) portrayed Reverend James Lucas in the Luke Cage episodes Soul Brother #1, Straighten It Out, Wig Out, The Basement, On and On, If It Ain't Rough, It Ain't Right and For Pete's Sake.
He was honored in an epitaph at the end of the episode They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.), the final episode of season two.

Cathey's casting was announced by Marvel Television on Marvel's website following his death on February 9th 2018.[1] Mike Colter also paid tribute to the actor on his Twitter further hinting his casting before its announcement the next day on February 10th, making it his final acting performance.[2]
