Peter Quill's Grandmother was married with Jason Quill and had one son and one daughter named Meredith Quill. In 1980, Meredith met Ego, an extraterrestrial Celestial entity and gave birth to her grandson Peter Quill.
In 1988, she was present at the hospital by Meredith's side as she was dying of cancer, and was present when Meredith flat-lined and ultimately died.[2] She eventually died by 2026, with Jason marrying another woman.[1][3]

Autograph Seeker
- Laura Haddock's role in Captain America: The First Avenger was credited as "Autograph Seeker". James Gunn claims there was no connection between the Autograph Seeker and Meredith Quill, Haddock's role in Guardians of the Galaxy.[4] On May 2, 2018, after a fan inquired as to whether they were the same character, Gunn joked that he was deciding on the spot she was the grandmother of Peter Quill.[5] However, on May 10, 2021, he made clear again that there is no genuine connection intended.[6]
