The National Reconnaissance Office, better known by its acronym NRO, is part of the United States' Department of Defense and is one of the nation's five biggest intelligence agencies.

The NRO was one of the organizations that wanted information about S.H.I.E.L.D. after its disablement during the HYDRA Uprising.[1]
