Biography[]
Early Life[]
Interest in Birdlife[]
As a child, Ian Boothby and his father went bird watching on a usual basis. Thanks to this, he learned how to identify different species of birds.[1]
Internship[]
Following Darcy Lewis[]
- "He's my intern; my intern's intern."
- ―Jane Foster[src]
Boothby was hired by Darcy Lewis as her unpaid intern. Boothby was a big fan of Jane Foster and first appeared to her when he popped up in the back seat of Lewis's car, startling her. He helped to guide the women to the anomaly after Foster left her date with Richard Madison.[1]
Battle of Greenwich[]
- "Do you even know what these things do?"
"No."
"Neither do I." - ―Darcy Lewis and Ian Boothby[src]
Boothby acted as Erik Selvig's son when taking him out of the mental facility after he and Darcy Lewis saw his arrest on the news. As the Convergence approached, Foster let the others know of the coming of Malekith, Boothby and Lewis placed the Gravimetric Spikes in the ground that could manipulate the Wormholes created.
During the Battle of Greenwich, Boothby saved Lewis from the Dark Elves by picking up a floating car and slamming it onto the elves, killing them. Lewis was amazed that he saved her life. When Foster and Selvig used the teleporter, Lewis and Boothby were teleported and kissing with Lewis holding him. After Jane called her, Lewis awkwardly dropped Boothby, just as Mjølnir sailed past them intent on reaching its owner. Boothby and Lewis later arrive to see Foster and Thor nearly been crushed by the dark elves ship. Fortunately, Selvig used the device to teleport it elsewhere where it crushed Malekith to death. Relieved her friends were alright, an overjoyed Lewis kissed Boothby even more passionately.
Afterwards, Boothby returned to Foster's apartment with Lewis, Foster, and Selvig. A few days later, he witnessed Thor's arrival using the Bifrost Bridge to stay with Foster.[1]

Hardly any different from Darcy Lewis, Ian Boothby was a helpful and well-meaning, though eccentric and awkward man. He was also brave, defending his love interest from Dark Elves.
