History[]
Scott Lang's Journey into the Hill[]
- "I gamely climbed up to the top of the Hill, stuck my head into the entrance, and asked, "Who's ready for an ant party?""
- ―Scott Lang[src]
In order to become more acquainted with the Ants, Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym requested that Lang take a journey into the Hill. After shrinking his way inside, Lang noticed that the colony was moving their eggs and larvae to a warmer part of the mound. Thinking that, if he assisted the ants in their task, they would become more friendly towards him, Lang grabbed one of the eggs, only for the ants to begin to swarm him response. Luckily, Lang kept his cool and successfully ordered the ants off of him and, with the help of a little bit of sugar to distract the ants, he was able to escape from the Hill.
With newfound confidence, Lang later journeyed back into the Hill. Once in the Hill, Lang noticed a rotting lemon that was dripping its acidic juice down into the Hill. Realizing that this was a big problem for the ants, Lang called upon them to lift him up so he could move the lemon. Knowing that they had a common enemy, the ants happily accepted Lang's call to action, forming a tower that lifted Lang high enough for him to reach the lemon. Much to Lang's dismay, he saw Pym walking away from the scene, implying that he placed the lemon there. Lang didn't care that much, however, as he and the ants had finally become a team.[1]
