- "King Yakan, tell them what happened here today. Tell of the time that Thor, and his ragtag, motley crew of misfit desperados, turned the tide of the battle, and etched their names in history. For the odds may be against us, but I'll tell you this for free... this ends here and now!"
- ―Thor to Yakan[src]
The Battle of Indigarr was a mission undertaken by the Guardians of the Galaxy to protect the Indigarrians from Habooska the Horrible and his Booskan army.
Background[]
On a deserted planet, Gorr the God Butcher and his daughter Love, the last survivors of their species, prayed to their god Rapu to survive, however, Love would die in the desert, leaving Gorr alone. He later managed to find Rapu himself, who was celebrating his victory against the All-Black the Necrosword wielder, and Gorr realized his deity was nothing but arrogant and selfish. Gorr became the new Necrosword wielder, killing Rapu and swearing to kill the rest of the gods.
In 2024, during his chain of murders, Gorr the God Butcher traveled to Indigarr, slaying the Indigarrian protector gods in their temple as part of his revenge, causing Habooska the Horrible and his army of Booskans to arrive on the planet, seizing control of the planet. Later, Thor convinced the Guardians of the Galaxy to travel to the unprotected planet, telling them it would be like a relaxing vacation.[2]
Battle[]
- "Thor, we need your help to win this battle."
- ―Peter Quill to Thor[src]
King Yakan asked the Guardians of the Galaxy and their ally Korg to help defend the planet, but Thor left the battlefield and went to meditate. During the battle against Habooska the Horrible, Korg protected the children and told them about the adventures of Thor. Kraglin Obfonteri also left the battle for a while and met Glenda. The Guardians realized they needed Thor's help to win, so Star-Lord and Mantis interrupted his meditation to ask for his help, which he accepted, and he flew away with the Stormbreaker.
Drax the Destroyer, Nebula, Rocket and multiple Indigarrian warriors started a long-range battle using firearms. Star-Lord and Mantis rejoined the fight, as Thor declared to King Yakan that he would win, Thor then would summon the Stormbreaker and use his powers to take down the Booskans, eventually killing Habooska the Horrible.[2]
Aftermath[]
As a "reward" to Thor, Yakan and the Indigarrians would give Thor, the giant troublesome goats Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, which began to make a mess in the Benatar, much to the other Guardians' annoyance. However, the Guardians began to receive more and more reports of different planets deities being slaughtered, with Lady Sif being on one of them.
Realizing that whoever was doing this would be too tough for the other Guardians to take on, Thor and Korg would take Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder and leave to deal with the threat as the relieved Guardians dealt with the aftermath. As the Guardians left Indigarr to deal with the invaded planets, Thor and Korg journeyed to Falligar to help Sif.[2]
