Jonathan Stroud is the author of the Lockwood & Co. series‏‎ who resides in England.

Stroud is renowned for his Bartimaeus series, featuring the adventures of an ambitious magician and a djinni in an alternate London. Popular best-sellers, the series includes The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem's Eye, Ptolemy's Gate and a prequel title, The Ring of Solomon. Stroud's other titles include, among others, Heroes of the Valley and The Leap.

Jonathan Stroud was not directly involved in the production of the Netflix Lockwood & Co. TV series, but nevertheless served as a consultant for the program. He also wrote the text for material which appeared on-screen, such as passages from the Fittes Manual for Ghost-hunters.[2]

Stroud's most recent series, Scarlett & Browne, began in 2021, featuring a post-apocalyptic society and a boy with strange abilities.
