Hugo Blake was the former boyfriend of Annabel Ward. He has been to jail several times for counts of Fraud and one account of assault. He is a business owner with considerable wealth and influence[1]. On the Lockwood & Co. (TV series), Hugo is potrayed Saverio Buono.
Early life[]
In his early life, Blake was a society figure described by London Socety as "Today's Man About Town"[2]. He was described to be relatively handsome and had probably already gathered considerable wealth, judging by his luxurious clothing and appearance. He was in an on-and-off relationships with Annabel Ward, who was also in relationships with John Fairfax around the same time. Fairfax was jealous of Blake and forbid Annabel to meet him, though she did not follow this[3].
Murder Accusations[]
After the murder of Annabel Ward, Blake was quickly accused by authorities. He was the last known contact, had been known to be in romantic contact with her and was suspected to have killed her in a fight. As no body was found, he was never formally charged at the time[1]. 50 years later, the case was reopened due to the discovery of the body of Annabel Ward in 62 Sheen Road by Lockwood & Co.. He was again held by DEEPRAC and interrogated. As was later discovered, he was a red herring, somewhat purposefully used by John Fairfax, the murderer of Annabel Ward, to cover up his guilt. He was released and, after the true murderer was discovered, not charged again[3][4].
