62 Sheen Road was the residence of Mrs. Hope and the late Mr. Hope, where the ghost of Annabel Ward was found[1][2]. It was burnt down in a fire caused by a magnesium flare thrown by Lucy Carlyle, while trying to protect Anthony Lockwood[3].

Manifestations[]

Annabel Ward[]

Main article: Annabel Ward

Annabel Ward was a socialite and Actress that lived in 62 Sheen Road approximately 50 years before it burnt down[2]. She was killed by John Farifax in a heated argument, being chocked to death. Her body was walled into a part of her bedroom by Fairfax, still wearing a locket containing a ring that was gifted to her by Fairfax[4][5]. This Ring would ultimately become her source. She remained inactive for most of the 50 years due to too, probably among other things made of iron, an iron bedframe. After Mr. and Mrs. Hope turned the Room into a study, removing enough of the iron, she was able to manifest[4]. Her manifestation was contained and her source accidentally taken by Lockwood & Co. Agents, which lead them to ultimately solve her murder and let her ghost bring justice to John Fairfax[5].

Mr. Hope[]

Mr. Hope was the late husband of Mrs. Hope and former owner of 62 Sheen Road since about 2 years before it burned down. He died in the house, falling down the stairs[6]. Whether or not this was a genuine accident or not was not clear. Just as unclear is, if he actually manifested, as only his death-glow could be seen at the bottom of the stairs("[Strong], still lingering 3 Months after he died"[7]). A manifestation appears likely, as Agents of Lockwood & Co. saw a shadow moving in the first floor while the house was unoccupied[6], and Annabel Ward was mostly active on the second floor[8].

History[]

Ownership by Annabel Ward[]

Annabel Ward took ownership of 62 Sheen road 50 years before it burned down. Who bought the house after her disappearance is unclear, although it is possible that John Fairfax was involved in the transaction. When the house was actually resold is also unknown[4].

Ownership by Mr. and Mrs. Hope[]

Mr. and Mrs. Hope bough 62 Sheen Road about 2 years before it burned down. They remodeled parts of the house, including the former Bedroom. After the death of her Husband, Mrs. Hope refused to life in the house due to frequent disturbances by Ghosts. The House was due to be sold, but the second floor was burned before this was possible. Whether or not the house was rebuilt or possibly sold is unknown[6].

Rooms[]

The kitchen was a room in the First floor of the house, located at the end of the main Hall[6]. It was smart, white and modern, featuring white cupboards and countertops, a simple wood table and two chairs[9]. The Room was void of any Supernatural activity[6]. This fact lead to Lockwood & Co. using it as a base of operations during their Hunt, brewing tea and eating bread there[9].

Second Floor[]

Hall and Staircase[]

The Staircase leading to the second floor and the Hall there were filled with echo's and cold air. Even when standing on the first step, a noticeable drop in temperature could be noted, in addition to a persistent knocking sound[8]. While going up the Stairs, Agents of Lockwood & Co. noted a drop from 9°C to 4°C, accompanied by ever-louder knocking sounds, which stopped as soon as they reached the Hall. Within it, they had their first encounter with the Ghost of Annabel ward, during which Agent Lucy Carlyle almost fell down the Stairs. She was saved by a framed painting which hung prominently above the stairs[10].

Study/Bedroom(former)[]

The messy Study featured a chaotic bookshelves, thigh-high piles of geology magazines, multiple geological hammers and spots on the floor, indicating the location of the bedframe that had been removed[1]. It was in this room, that Annabel Ward was murdered and walled in. Therefore, her source was also located here, in a cavity on the far side of the room, noticeable by a different plaster. It was opened in the attempts of Lockwood & Co. to locate the Ghost's source[3]. The Room was also the showplace of the fight between the Ghost of Annabel Ward and Lockwood & Co., which the Agents only managed to survive due to Lucy Carlyle's use of a Magnesium flare, which ultimately burned down the house[3][11].

Lockwood & Co.[]

The burning of 62 Sheen Road posed a major issue for the Lockwood & Co. agency. While major expenses on the job of ghost-hunting were normally covered by insurance, DEPRAC took the line that the insurance agreement was null and void because Lockwood & Co. failed to follow proper procedure, citing a lack of iron chains and certain other protective measures. As such, they leveed a fine of £60,000 against the agency, with the threat of shutting them down if the fine was not paid.[12][4]
