Awesome talk, but not a bad idea at all.
I’m certain that very robust IDE integration is just down the road. And, darkly, if you compared the amount of power, water, and CO2 the LLM burns once integrated to that consumed by the programmer, or the IDE itself, it rapidly becomes apparent where the costs are.
This is an outrage! How dare you suggest developers are not carbon neutral! 😝
