Stand out: Joe Pesci
Home Alone is one of the greatest Christmas movies every made.
A family go on holiday to Paris and accidentally leave their 8-year-old son behind where he has to defend the house from potential burgulars.
It doesn't feel like Christmas until you watch Home Alone. It is one of those films that you can watch over and over again each year and it doesn't get old.
Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are hilarious as the Wet Bandits: Harry and Marv. Seeing Joe Pesci trying not to swear while he's getting beaten up by an 8-year-old is tremendous fun. They have great banter together and are probably the most memorable villains in a family film.
The musical score is amazing. It is memorable and catchy, not something you would expect from a simple Christmas comedy. As soon as the score starts playing you know it is Christmas time.
Some of the acting by the kids isn't that great. They mostly seem to be overacting, but it doesn't take anything away from the movie. In fact, Macaulay Culkin's overacting adds to the comedy of the film, even if it does make him seem like a little psychopath.
Home Alone is a must watch during the Christmas holidays. It has something for the entire family to enjoy.
