I honestly expected to be one of the very few who disliked this film. Quite simply I don't like musicals. More so the traditional type like La La Land. A film that feels like a throwback and an ode to Hollywood's past. A past that includes films like Grease and Westside Story. Films I hate. I've just never been on board with the whole burst into song thing. That said, I actually managed to somewhat enjoy La La Land. The burst into song moments are fairly minimal, and I could sense the passion of those involved with making this film. It's obviously very well made, and if I'm honest, it's actually quite charming. I didn't love it like so many did, but surprisingly enough for me I liked it.
