PS3 Error Code 80029940 - Disc Cannot Be Played
Bullshit. You're telling me the Sony Movie, on Sony's Blu-Ray technology, cannot play a Sony Animation film?! Am I in hell? No, because out in the internet Jason Pratt was just like me & took the time to troubleshoot, left his findings for the world to discover: Press Triangle, & try the option "Play from Beginning" Bypassed the STUPID error code, letting me rewatch Spider-Verse 😁 Huge shout out to Jason Pratt!
There's an Alternate-Dimension Mode! They took the time to edit a whole different version of the movie to highlight all the choices they DIDN'T make. There was some cool stuff, honestly for me just seeing the storyboards & early animations is good practice. Such emphasis on the eyes! I'll never forget seeing this in the theater in 2018 "Those ads sure look good, let's check it out!" I was so sure ISLE OF DOGS was the animation champ that year, I couldn't even conceive of just how visual & excellent this could be. After seeing the new TMNT & this again, the animation on Spider-verse is still up another level, the whole Kirby Dots used to render light plus all the chromatic aberrations? Plus Daniel Pemberton on the score, that dude completely rules. There's still another version for me to watch, I haven't even done the Director's Commentary yet! NOTE: You cannot do both the Alternate Dimension cut & the Director's Commentary, this isn't BANDERSNATCH. Nevertheless, the movie is wonderful. Thanks Spider-man, Jason Pratt, & Sony. You know I'm looking forward to BEYOND! On a down note, I’m going to return this used copy of Spider-Verse :/ Even I can’t fix the skips on the disc, might as well save up for a new copy, this one's worth it 😭
