Now that fall is settling in, it feels like the perfect time to watch this movie. It's a great slow burn, with a keen eye for historical accuracy. It's great to be able to watch it with subtitles on so I can actually make out what they're saying all the time, especially since for most of the movie the sound is really low. I had the volume turned up so I could actually hear it but I bout had a heart attack towards the end when they turned up the soundtrack out of nowhere.
The Derek Huff award goes to the writer/ director, Robert Eggers. The dialog and the historical accuracy were very well done, unlike in The Lighthouse were I'm one of the few dissenters who thinks that movie is pretentious.
