I used to be in love.
I met her in a bar one beautiful summer evening and we started talking to each other. I took the initiative and it was very awkward at first, but we immediately noticed from each other that we were interested and we had a little spark between us.
The bar is usually always very noisy, but when we sat down at the table together, all that noise, the sound disappeared. The only thing we saw, heard was each other. Everyone around us had disappeared, only we were left.
We talked about everything, our dreams, our memories, our studies and our past mistakes and decisions that led us to this moment. I smiled, she smiled. We looked away from each other and then back at each other. It was embarrassing but delighful at the same time.
The minutes turned into hours and the hours eventually turned into the fact that after the doors of the bar were closed we continued to be together for months and finally years until one day we realized that our spark had died and we went our separate ways, however satisfied, because both she and I will remember the first night when we met and our chemistry spark between us.
This movie is a window to the past for me. I'm older now and i had others "love" interest but im still alone and it's fine but the feeling I felt that night in the bar where I met her is the same feeling I get from this movie every time I watch it.
At the end of the movie, it shows us all the places where the two main characters of the movie had spent their time and they are empty and ordinary but for Jesse and Celine they are exactly what I said earlier, memories of a time when they felt something that is hard to explain, whether it was love.
Love is a chemical reaction that fades with time but the feeling you once felt with someone like Jesse and Celine felt with each other. Hold on to it, because if love is real, then this is the epitome of it.
