Damn that excellent opening battle scene, Its gruesome of a magnitude. I was really immersed into this. I absolutely love the camera work its chaotic without being shaky, the cinematography is insanely crisp. The use of natural light gave everything a nice touch of realness. I didn't feel much emotional value for Leo's son nor their relationship, not enough meat on the relationship. The music gives this heavenly gravity, very effective when used, really beautiful. The pacing is slow but it works, I wouldn't consider this a negative. Alejandro shows isolation in a phenomenal way. Tom Hardy's character was interesting but I felt he was forced as a villain which I didn't dig much. The real villain was just cruel situations. As expected Leo gives an exceptional performance, credits to Tom Hardy too. There is no weak link of acting which everyone pulls their weight, especially Domhnall Gleeson who plays the captain, giving the best performances of his career. The more think about The Revenant I like it even more. Rain of unforgivable dilemmas. Respect to all the crew members involved creating this amazing film.
