Genuinely speechless. I just came home from a NYC showtime and have been thinking nonstop about this film the last few hours. I'm struggling to find the words to describe this, it is a monumental achievement of a lifetime. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe give career-best performances, the writing is almost too good, the character dynamic was beyond natural and even had some hilarious moments thrown in too, the slow burn nightmarish atmosphere (which is thick enough to taste) is completely engrossing, the cinematography added to the claustrophobic feel, the score is unbelievably memorable and makes significant scenes hit even harder, and the wild ride this film provides never lets up.
I really wish I could be more descriptive, but I'm genuinely at a loss for words. Hopefully I can provide a more in-depth look with future viewings, but all else I can say is this film is a masterpiece and perfect in every way. I can't wait to see this over and over again.
