I seriously don’t even know where to begin! My initial reaction the minute the movie ended was that I was spooked, but not scared. It’s true…the movie isn’t necessarily a jump scare type of film. It’s actually an unsettling piece of small town horror. The horror being that a serial killer is loose and the dread he brings to this town.
Nicholas Cage is spectacular in his role…but we need to have the main focus on Maika Monroe. This. Woman. Is. AMAZING. I was with her every step of the way and I’m so happy that she was our lead. The way she emotes, her vulnerability and smarts…it’s all pitch perfect and that is very much needed for this character.
Longlegs basically takes you down the rabbit hole of psychological dread, and it is so wonderfully done by Oz Perkins. See it in a theater asap!
