Plots that exist purely because of one character/ group’s terribly selfish decisions frustrate me. These choices are irrational, lead to disaster, but end up being necessary by design. Really, really cannot understate how insane it is to see Westminster Bridge and the cold London streets so absolutely desolate. There's no such thing as harping too much on one of the most lauded points of the film and its production - it's an incredible feat that really chills me to the same point of seeing the empty Shibuya Scramble at the end of Battle Royale. It's been impossible (as someone on Twitter especially) to avoid the cultural hype, memes, and even general gist of themes/ basic plot points, as much as I tried. But my first whisper of it, with the two-egg poster, made me hungry for what looked like a fantastic, promising horror movie. And through the Activator memes and arguments about interpreting French feminism, I think did, in fact, find one at its core.
