Nolan's Oppenheimer may seem like a historical biopic, but it's a story of passion, success, regret, revenge, jealousy, and, most importantly, consequences. The complexity in both this film and Robert's portrayal is just one example of his brilliant filmmaking.
Having prior knowledge of the Manhattan Project, I wasn't expecting such a thrilling presentation of the creation of the A-Bomb. Oppenheimer and Straus’s feud was the cherry on top. RDJ has always been a favorite of mine, and he once again proved his potential. The whole political angle about the Super/H-Bomb and Straus’s clever plan to demolish Oppie’s well-established reputation blew me away, not to mention the horrifying Trinity Test, which eventually made him realize that “Humanity will intend to use every weapon they could get their hands on”!
The cast, Ludwig’s score, visually pleasing shots of the quantum particles, and the smoothly chopped editing that doesn't let you keep your eye away, even for a second, made the experience so much better and unforgettable.
