Here after seeing the TV show.
I need to do some comparisons, both are great works of adaptation.
The film is much more faithful to the source material than the TV show. In the TV show only the general outline is the same, every other detail and side event is just completely different.
Harrison Ford and Jake Gyllenhaal both bring completely different energy to the role.
The erotic thriller aspect is more thoroughly portrayed in the film.
The twist ending is plausible in the film and completely far fetched in the TV show.
Bill Camp and Peter Sarsgaard performances are much better and striking in their roles in the TV show than their film counterparts.
All in all, I liked both versions. Might prefer the film version because of the more intricate and intertwined crime storyline.
