the Creed movies are beginning to struggle to justify their own existence to me, not that they’re not good, but both 2 and 3 feel like aimless followups to the original. everything here is well made, between the spectacular fights and the ever great cast of characters(with excellent performances to boot), but so much of this feels like just a story we’ve already heard and don’t need to be told again. Adonis Creed has already proved himself worthy of the name Creed, Adonis Creed has already had to fight the ghost of his past, we already have 8 other movies worth of excellent fights from this franchise, and those movies have tighter scripts. perhaps it’s just franchise fatigue setting in, but as happy as i always am to see Adonis and pals i just hope next time they bring me something a little less derivative. this movie may be good, but i’m not sure how i feel about the future of the series
