Anyone whose life isn’t where they expected it to be can find something to relate to in George’s story, but I have a particularly strong connection because I too know what it’s like to put your aspirations on hold because circumstance and conscience demand you step up and take on certain responsibilities. Like George, it’s an appreciation for the modest joys in life, for the friends and loved ones around me, that helped me come to peace with it. Everyone has something to be grateful for. It’s a timeless lesson that this film is going to keep delivering forever, and for that, all the praise it receives is fully justified.
