About a year ago, I saw the teaser trailer for this attached to Nope. Y'know the one with the countdown to the movie's release date. Ever since, this became my most anticipated movie of 2023.

As we got closer to the release date, everything leading up to it was what this movie needed. Nolan directing and writing it, he announces that there's no cgi shots, his first R-rated film in over 20 years, and most importantly a story that we need in these times and worthy of a 3 hour runtime. So, with all that said, did it live up to my expectations. No.

It goddamn exceeded them!!!!

Mr. Nolan you are a genius. Everything was top notch. The acting, the screenplay, the story, the camerawork, the music, and everything else in between worked to a T. Great performances all around. Cillian Murphy had me hooked from his first frame to the very end. His ability to communicate what he's feeling with his face alone is impressive. Robert Downey Jr. maybe known as Iron Man, but should also be commended for his performance as Lewis Strauss. I hope at least one of these two win Best Actor.

Nolan's ability to make 3 hours feel like 2 is astounding, on top of giving us a screenplay that not only does justice to the story of Oppenheimer, but also makes us question if the atomic bomb was either a success or a mistake. Well, if we think of it as a mistake, it's too late. This movie addresses that we have the power to destroy ourselves and we have no one to blame but ourselves. And, I will not dare give away the ending of this film. Let's just say it gave me the biggest chills

Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer is an achievement that we don't deserve, but we now have it and god bless this man for it. I have only scratched the surface with what I want to say about this movie. To sum it up for now, when the credits started, I said to myself "Now that should win Best Picture.
