Today: The Planets from the BBC

„A big family, millions of miles separated, bonded by a common destiny...“
Our solar system

Hi everybody, Corona time is Documentary time. I have watched a few movies of that genre in the last two and a half months. Over this way I will introduce you the best of this period. Starting with „The Planets“, what a beautiful, high class animated Docu this was. The kind of storyrelling wasn't something special. People sitting on chairs and share their knowledge about Physic, Biology, Geology, Astronomy and so on, but the visuality of this 5 episodes long BBC production is mesmerizing. The episodes takes us on a journey throughout our solar system. From Mercury to Neptune and beyond that, to the frozen worlds of the dwarf Planets. And the special effects were absolutely great, especially for a documentary. I mean it's nothing new, that the BBC invests much money in their projects, but this time they just exceeded themselves. The 50 minutes long episodes are filled with interesting information and plausible presumptions. From possible life on other Planets in our solar system, to the possibility of long extinct life on other Planets in our solar system. I'm a huge science – fiction fan and since my early childhood, I've been fascinated by the nightbsky and Astronomy. I read a lot of books about our solar system and the Galaxy we live in, but I can`t get enough of this stuff. This Documentary mini – series totally hit my taste. The five different episodes might be focussing on one big and interesting Planet per episode, but it also shows images and information about their neighbours or even shows how one Planet affected the whole solar system. As fans of documentaries and science – fiction movies, we can give you a big recommendation. Big Five Stars, means two thumbs up from The Two Cineasts. Hope you will enjoy it the same like we did.
