Sport viewed in the context of relationships. Tennis is intimate, one on one, sweaty and exhausting. You have only yourself to rely on. Challengers takes Tennis and uses it as a tool to explore this complex human drama where everyone is dedicating their existence to “hitting balls with a racket.” But through the course of a single game of Tennis we see relationships blossom and crumble, new and old are tested and shattered with a 100mph force.

Manmade apocalypse inspired by Christian extremism, defeated by a trinity of women created through the artificiality of a crumbling system. Noah's Ark examined under the reality of hyper-capitalist infrastructure and blown to smithereens. The final act of this film presents the embodiment of hope for humanity, rising from the ashes of a fallen system and powered by memories of a time before the chaos, one which humanity will hold onto and build towards a better future, the mistakes of the past shall not be repeated.
