I've been scrolling past this for a while on prime and judging just from the poster I assumed it was some bad 90's romance movie and never even considered watching it. Today I unintentionally stopped on it and it started the little preview and said "Screen Australia" and I never hit play so fast in my life. Robert Eggers is so fucking good. When he first came up he was kinda clumped in with Ari Aster, which was always unfortunate because Eggers is a true master and Aster is a fraud of a filmmaker. I feel like he's already distanced himself from Aster, but i feel like this should solidify that Eggers is in a different fucking stratosphere cause this was a masterclass.
Also, just read his next movie is going to be a 13th century werewolf movie. Sign me the fuck up.
