the execution is so clunky and cheesy with the fake meta video and marketing fail but conceptually it’s creepy… wanted to do a rewatch since i hadn’t seen it since it came out
the premise of being a psychiatrist and all your patients are unanimously repeating the same experience word for word.. scarrrrryyyy. waking up seeing scratches on your floor. the dialogue had me shuddering but some concepts were really creepy including the depiction of mania / hallucinations and overarching ambiguity of a shared traumatic experience. i also respect not showing the monster and some good ol camcorder special fx. don’t need to watch this again but i don’t think it’s as horrible as people make it out to be
