Hackman really could play the hell out of a scumbag. I love how much of this movie is just, surveillance. Popeye is only a "good cop" cause he's crazy enough to sit around for days or trail a suspect for days until something finally happens. It's all pure luck.

A nauseating, gross and deeply cynical movie.
Juliette Gariépy gives the performance of the year as an evil psychopath who is so far removed from humanity she isn't even aware she's already drowned from loneliness and isolation.
