Still love this film, and I can’t believe I was able to rewatch it on a ferry (it was either rewatch this or watch Joker: Folie a Deux). I did find some problems with it this time round, though. I enjoyed the story slightly less than the first watch, and I did find some kind of generic tropes throughout, but the gorgeous visuals and the pure emotion really elevates the movie for me. I loved how they were able to make such minor things feel so high stakes and climatic, the movie is almost shot like a live action movie at times, and I love Fink as a character, honestly, his development, while predictable, is so subtle but 100% noticeable and is down extremely well. And that score… man it goes hard. The voice acting is also really fantastic, I enjoyed Nyongo voice performance even more this time round, too, and I felt I was able to appreciate the artistry of the backgrounds and scenery much more, as u wasn’t focusing on the story as much.
