finally someone gets it right
Reeves finally gave me everything the previous Batman films lacked: an honest to god mystery and investigation; relationships that actually made you feel something; character growth; a grounded, street-level batman that wades into crime scenes and crime boss lairs; a Bruce that is depressed, relentless, smart and also foolish, and cares very deeply about both his personal relationships and Gotham. Not to mention just really damn good filmmaking and score. Pattinson, Kravitz, and Wright are all perfect casting. Too many thoughts not enough words, can’t wait to see it again.

the food sex scenes in Tampopo prepared me for this. but it still wasn’t enough. a movie that I couldn’t shut up while watching, but afterwards left confused trying to explain what it was like to sit through 3 hours of watching other people go through IRL Twitter therapy. I liked every other 5th thing in the film. best things: 1) monologuing to the camera 2) the cinematography and capturing theater on film 3) sign language in theater on film…
