Gaza Mon Amour 2020
wonderfully composed, pretty funny, very sweet. starring hiam abbass, my goat. the reality of the ongoing occupation and ethnic cleansing is, i think, pretty deftly woven into this otherwise pretty straightforward absurdist romcom.

i actually think basically everybody is right about this one, from 0 stars to 5 stars, but i think anybody praising or criticizing this one for its politics/morals/philosophy (or lack thereof, and in any direction) is approaching it the wrong way. blood, guts, gags, margaret qualley, unserious satire, homage to lynch and cronenberg, great editing, fun premise. those are all really fun and good things that i happen to enjoy quite a bit
