these movies have aged so well i love that
Holy shit.
a captivating, beautiful, incredibly on the nose, deconstruction of both religion and cults of personality. this movie is 100% about trump and also about generally modern religion, particularly christianity. it’s a funny, incredibly written, incredibly shot film with insane acting from its entire cast. this movie is one of the best of the year. better than glass onion, and likely better than the first (i haven’t seen it) and perhaps that’s my original sin. this movie is so on the nose it’s actually quite insane
a movie with kiernan shipka and lesbians and it still managed to bore the shit out of me wowwwww
Hooting and hollering when Bresson shows up.
Extremely my shit. I loved the Catholic Church setting. I loved Josh O’Conner as the kid priest. I loved Josh Brolin’s angry priest. I loved Glenn Close’s keeper of the church. I loved this Benoit Blanc performance from Daniel Craig.
I’d have to rewatch the first one again, but I think this is my favorite of the bunch. But luckily they’re all great and Rian Johnson never misses.
Honestly almost as good if not better then the original.
Went in expecting a silly romcom from the trailers, so was pleasantly surprised when the movie ended up being more introspective than I thought. Doesn’t do anything super special, but really enjoyed how it resolved its plot threads and balanced the escapism with realism. Cannot begin to explain how happy I was that Agathe’s friend stayed her friend even after they slept together. The parallel between the kiss on the lips when Agathe left vs the kiss on the cheek when Oliver left was my favorite part, I think. A nice, cozy watch!
This was fun. Definitely better than 2, still think the original has yet to be topped.
