Pamela Anderson genuinely shines with the full power of the sun. The same cannot be said for the film itself.

I am so devastated to not be writing a five star review. This was my most anticipated release of 2025, I'd spent months raving about how wonderful this film would be. I even travelled to a different cinema since they weren't showing it at my local. Unfortunately, I left rather disappointed.

Many odd choices were made here, some of the camera work and lighting had me thinking I'd ended up in a 3D screening without any glasses. I'm assuming it was a directorial choice but it was terrible! The dialogue left a lot to be desired, the confrontation between Shelly and Hannah in the dressing room especially had some of the strangest dialogue it was so disjointed. That scene felt like it had been in a foreign language and translated into English via Google. The film overall felt underdeveloped and the many montages of Pamela standing on the Vegas strip definitely aid my point. For an under ninety minute runtime you'd think they'd be trying to add more substance instead of filling the gaps with Anderson standing around. I couldn't grasp what they were trying to do with Curtis' character, they lingered on her too much to just be an obscure side character but they also didn't dedicate anytime to developing her. Don't keep cutting to her if we aren't going to get anything from it.

I'm aware that's a whole lot of negative ranting but there were some pros amongst the cons! Anderson, Song and Shipka were fantastic as well as Bautista who I unironically think has never looked better than he did in this film. They all dazzled with the material they were given and I do hope they get the recognition they deserved for it. May the Pamela Anderson renaissance continue!! If I could I'd give it 5 stars just for her.

Overall, I had a lot of expectations going in that were not met. The film couldn't live up to be what I wanted and unfortunately I'm just gonna have to live with that 😔✊️

The cinema also left the lights on for the first 5 minutes??

It's nice to know that even if they didn't have AO3 in the 1930s they still got to enjoy the tropes 🤧

Arguably Clark Gable was far more charming in this than Gone with the Wind

It was obvious something was off the minute he had her carrying both suitcases inside 🤧 man up smh

I'm not the first person to say this and I won't be the last but I wish the marketing hadn't spoiled the twist. It was a super fun film but would've been a million times better if it hadn't been spoiled. Sophie Thatcher is dazzling and I'm always happy to see Harvey Guillén. Also yes please bring back pretty title cards, it was such a simple but nice touch! The final confrontation went on for too long but I suppose they had to pad out the runtime. Sophie please continue your world domination I've been loving you since s1 of Yellowjackets 🙏

60 years of The Sound of Music

Literally the most dreamy film for a Sunday morning. It's got everything! Julie Andrews is an angel, enemies to lovers, longing, singing and Christopher Plummer looking fine as hell while ripping apart a nazi flag with his bare hands.

(To clarify: the film is NOT dreamy when the nazi's turn up)

Susan Sarandon you are so gorgeous but this is so boring 😭 not my niche of horny film 🤧

The violent and graphic rape was the final straw for me 👍

This film makes me feel grimy for giving it the time of day. Standard exploitative white saviour film.

Not my cup of tea but still pretty engaging. I can imagine when I tell my dad in a weeks time that I watched this he'll start raving about it. Not something I'll revisit but still glad I checked it out at least once.

Personally? I would've thrown those freaky looking babies out the window IMMEDIATELY. Fuck them kids.

I don't know if it was the copy I watched but the voice over for the kids was not synced good 😭 I'm not taking you serious little dude when your words don't line up.

This ones for the girls who were raised on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

As everyone is well aware, Veronica Lake is hypnotic. No one else could've made this as charming as it was. The perfect flick for Halloween. I've been meaning to watch this for Halloween for the past 2 years but never found time to fit it in and I could not wait until this Halloween to roll around. I think I'm inlove with this film it's so fun and dreamy. Its got similar charm to The Ghost and Mrs.Muir as well 🫠

In this they say Charles Dickens has malewife energy and I couldn't agree more.

And Charlotte Brontë dances to Dua Lipa.

After 3 years of patiently waiting I finally have gotten the chance to see this masterpiece. Obviously as per every year I sat myself down with a cup of coffee and some cherry pie to rewatch this utter masterpiece of a pilot.

First Lynch watch since passing 💔 this was my gateway drug to Lynch and ultimately my favourite work of his.

Watched in the Scotsman Picturehouse and I did infact shed a tear at the title cards. The best film ever put in technicolour.

The most dreamy film to see in an old school cinema, highly recommend for anyone visiting Edinburgh. It felt like fate that this was showing when I was using my birthday gift card. Utter perfection yet again!

A highlight was after the film in the line for the toilets there was a pipe making a noise consistently and someone said "Oh my god it's Lina Lamont!"

I really do not fuck with the Terrifier films but I do fuck with David Howard Thornton. That man puts 110% into every role he plays and that is glaringly obvious here. In the short span of 12 minutes he managed to cement himself as someone who could definitely embody the joker.

A decent short overall, really only knocked down in stars because the torture porn really isn't for me.

i NEED to get in on that game of musical chairs.

Takeshi proves yet again that he's still got it! Delightful and he obviously had the time of his life making this, its definitely reflected in the film. Short and sweet, a perfect watch for when you just need something silly.

The most exciting part of my viewing experience was when prime trivia popped up to tell me Scorsese was inspired by a Buster Keaton film when making this.

This is so not for me sorry gang 🤧 undeniably well acted but I did not like anyone in this film, what a piece of work Jake La Motta was.

I hope this is the kind of stuff people watch and immediately think of me.

Utterly hypnotic from start to finish. I'm so so so so inlove with this film. I wish I could crawl inside Ken Russell's head, such a fascinating man. The whole cast is perfect but I've got to give my highlighted praise to Gabriel Byrne who completely embodies Byron. Need to procure this on blu ray asap.

Wouldn't nearly be as palatable if it weren't for the guy playing the mouse literally be having the time of his life in every scene. Dude was putting 110% into this when he really didn't have to, like really no one else was putting in the effort except the old guy.

Majorly confused by most of the plot and why everyone's mics were turned down so low, had no idea what half of them were saying.

I cannot resist doing a sing along of Springtime For Hitler every single time I see any version of The Producers 🙂‍↕️

I can't believe this and the remake both ended up being such masterclasses in comedy musicals. I was worried initially viewing this that I'd miss Nathan Lane but Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder are utterly electric. Both versions have definitely cemented themselves in my mind forever. That being said, NEVER REMAKE THIS AGAIN.

Rejoice cinephiles for the millisecond in this film that they watch Duck Soup

Completely beat my expectations, not that I thought it was going to be bad but I certainly didn't think it was going to be this good!! Feels like they've found their footing again after stumbling with the last one. Still lacks an amount of Hugh Grant but the film is superb. An incredible framing of grief which will have you and your bestie sobbing as Niamh & I were. Bridget Jones is most definitely back (though this one also lacked a fight scene)

Billy wearing a mini version of Darcy's reindeer jumper at the end broke me into a million pieces.

An excellent cast but lacks the full charm of Ishiguro's novel, that being said you will 100% still be majorly depressed by the end. Just finished reading the book for uni this morning so it felt right to check out the film.

They fucking murdered Greyfriars Bobby in this tf 😭

They also manage to call the city "Edimburo" within the record time of the first three minutes.

Maybe the most devious Dracula on screen, toxic yaoi-ing his whole squad, bombing a kids treehouse, bullying a holocaust survivor and calling a five year old a bitch all the while having sick drip and a cunty car.

Duncan Regehr should've played Dracula in other films he was fantastic, utterly charming with the right levels of sinister and he looked amazing.

Maybe putting the rating a bit high but I was utterly charmed by this. Norma Shearer does an incredible job of her two roles and I mean she spends half the film looking like a Vivienne Westwood model what's not to love??

It's fun, it'll never live up to the first one but I think everyone's a bit harsh on this. The different evolutions of zombie was a nice new feature. Plus they've got Avan Jogia in this how can you complain 🤷‍♀️

Tbh I'll be happy watching anything as long as Woody Harrelson is in it.

This and Army of the Dead have some of the funnest zombie film opening title sequences of all time, so so so incredibly entertaining. Nothing I love more than montages of zombies to good music. (Army of the dead is not very good at all but check out the opening)

Potentially one of the most quotable films of all time, so much so I struggled to choose one to head this review. I was expecting to like Sweet Smell of Success but I was not expecting to love it. Packed full of wit expertly delivered by the whole cast there is not one aspect in which this film falters. Definitely a film I can foresee myself rewatching again and again.

Also gave me a weird little crush on Burt Lancaster 🤷‍♀️

Serious props to the hair and makeup team because even my dedication to Jeremy Irons wavered for a moment when I saw that bald spot and hairline...

Amanda Seyfried shines even in this poor excuse of a biopic.

Perhaps one of the weakest screenplays I've seen in a while, it jumps around so much you'd think whoever assembled it was snorting as much coke as Chuck. For claiming to showcase the story of Linda Lovelace the film does a very poor job. The ninety minute runtime is squandered, spent mostly focused on the men talking over Linda than actually showcasing her life. Chris North also complete took me out, you can't make me look at that man and not except me to see Mr Big. The cast does the best they can, the weakness doesn't lie in them. The mediocrity of this film can entirely be blamed on those behind the camera.

Also why on earth did the dad go see her porno like wtf 😭😭

Probably would've been better watching with friends, at least I might have laughed a bit more. On your own this is unfortunately a drag, the ninety minute runtime felt like three hours. Though I must admit the kills were fun.

Betsy Russell and Kristen Stewart could be twins it was lowkey spooky.

If you looked up the definition of delightful this film would appear.

It's genuinely one of the most charming films ever made 🤷‍♀️ It's got an amazing soundtrack and Willem Dafoe, what else could you want? Maybe one of the cosiest films ever made.

I hadn't seen this in two years and the criterion appearing in the sales before Christmas felt like fate.

Delightful silly little comedy that holds up pretty well considering its turning 92 this year.

What a wonderful cluster fuck of fun. I don't think I could describe even half of what happened in this if asked but I know I enjoyed it. Fun but still doesn't rival Tokyo Godfathers or Perfect Blue for me 🤷‍♀️

My second outing with Vinterberg this month following The Hunt. A great film and I mean who doesn't want to see Mads Mikkelsen pull off some amazing dance moves?? My praise for Mads aside, the four leads were spectacular! Not one fault in their performances. While not a very fun film it's certainly a great watch, you've just gotta be in the right head space for it. I felt guilty having an Irish coffee while watching...

I can't lie I drank a bottle of prosecco watching this and don't think I could actually describe what happened but I had a lot of fun watching. Nothing beats a bit of Vincent Price on my bday 🥺

The dvd I was gifted also comes with the extended version so in the future expect a genuine review when I watch that one.
