    not quite as good as the first but still solid work... i like the cinematography quite a bit

    would have liked more lady, snow, and blood (maybe there's enough blood 🩸 it's just delivered in a less geyser-like manner)

    well... its been an extremely long time since i've seen this and i remember having a really difficult time getting into it back in the day...

    found it enrapturing. it really develops the mythology around twin peaks with the same absurd and surreal touch the original series possessed.

    this film is a 90-minute microcosm of a lifetime in restaurants

    there are some painstakingly detailed scenes that bring back lots of memories. from the interactions between the servers & bartenders and the kitchen staff... all very real

    boiling point highlights how, at times, the stress of a night's service can affect the ability to rationally and reasonably react in the moment

    the performances are great and give this entire movie its weight

    a little serving of ptsd, thanks very much

    i started my alex garland journey with the novel “the beach”, almost 30 years ago… this surprised me in as many ways as that book did

    between the beach, ex machina, and civil war, he’s delivered a magnum opus that will stand the test of time 

    this trilogy - whether intentional or not - deserves recognition as a body of work that explores the human condition with gravitas, through dystopian and speculative lenses
