We Live in Time 2024
My god. So beautiful and heartbreaking. This movie truly showcases the complexities and beauty of love and navigating life with another person. Seeing their entire relationship through the highs and lows and love being the constant throughout all of it was just absolutely gorgeous. This film will stick with me forever, I think.

Anora 2024
i'm obsessed with Ani, she's messy, she's chaotic, she's bringing back hair tinsel, and she's bursting with enough energy to render endless russian thugs incompetent
she's swept up in her cinderella story until the clock strikes midnight and all of sudden she's living in a waking madcap After Hours nightmare
how sean baker manages to make this both hilarious and heartfelt is a work of pure magic

Saturday Night 2024
LOOOOOOOVE LOVE LOVE this movie!!! i love snl so much and this was a perfect encapsulation of how insane and chaotic it was/is. i could watch 10,000 different movies about the making of each and every episode of snl.
outstanding performances for me were obv gabriel and rachel but also some surprises like tommy dewey and andrew barth feldman???? also matthew rhys’ carlin was incredible!
highly recommend watching the actual first episode of snl before watching the movie, it really…

The Substance 2024
RIP Bette Davis and Joan Crawford you would’ve loved Coralie Fargeat’s twenty-first century incarnation of the hagsplotiation cycle.

I think Fargeat struggles to strike a balance between representating the aging female body in a way that destigmatises and strives positive change without appropriating it for shock factor.
Yet, I loved it and I am SO glad a…

Beetlejuice 1988
Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse
It’s impossible not to love a Tim Burton film, can’t believe it’s took me so long to watch this classic. It combines elements of humour and horror both together to create scenes of strange curiosity and mundane madness. The unique outlook into the afterlife here is creative and dynamic. For its time, seeing the diversity in effects was such a magical experience through stop-motion, props and scale of the entire production. It earned an extra star just because my name is used in this!!!
