Finished work, watched “Mad Max: Fury Road” in cinemas, drove home whilst being pursued by mutants, murderers and the rest of the locals. “What a day, what a lovely day!” A staggering, relentless, brutal and beautiful cacophony of magnificent vehicular mayhem, soundtracked by shredding guitars and screaming engines, presented in petrol-spattered, flame-filled, gear-shattering glory, “Fury Road” is action cinema at its most visceral. Sure, the characters are about as deep as a swimming pool and the story isn’t earth-shattering, but who cares when the car crashes look that amazing! This is the definition of a cinematic roller coaster and one I had an absolute blast revisiting.
