Holy hell, that's a ride. Out Cronenbergs-Cronenberg. Give Demi Moore that Oscar.

Oddball mix of gangster movie and WWII propaganda but damn if Alan Ladd isn't cool as a cucumber throughout. He (barely) redeems himself in that time-honored way when even the most non-law-abiding Americans decide they draw the line at helping Nazis. Doesn't hold a candle to This Gun For Hire, but worth a watch for Ladd fans.

Catching up on some lesser known Alan Ladd films and this was great - I wouldn't doubt if one particular car scene helped inspire a certain chase in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Ladd is such a smooth, cool customer. My mom always thinks he's too cold and of course I disagree. In the '40s, he was hot as hell.

Good mystery, great atmosphere and supporting characters. Not a classic on the level of, say, The Maltese Falcon or The Glass Key, but a very solid entry.

Sort of okay until the ending (which does not "change her life forever," what a misleading way to describe this movie). And that sappy annoying song at the end is the absolute worst. Kind of angry I watched this, actually.

OMG. I can't recall when I've loved a horror movie more. The visuals are insane. The lighting, the sets are... indescribable. Who cares if it makes little to no sense?

A movie this insanely gorgeous is just a cinematic gift.

Suspiria remains the better film, but I enjoyed the hell out of this.
